Denise Callaghan

Denise Callaghan (she/her) is an encaustic/mixed media artist who divides her time between the rocky shorelines of Georgian Bay and the white sand beaches of northern Florida – with time in between spent in Essex County (Windsor/LaSalle)

She is a member of the Bruce Peninsula Society of Artists, where she serves as Treasurer on their Board of Directors; and the Carrabelle Artist Association, Florida

She is a member of the Red Schoolhouse Gallery, a cooperative gallery in Ferndale, and the Southampton Arts Centre

Her work can be seen at these two galleries as well as at the Art Shoppe in Miller Lake.

Her work is also available at The Pearl, Apalachicola Florida and Callie’s, Eastpoint Florida.

Her art is grounded in the belief that in the midst of our lives we must find the magic that makes our souls soar.

The Bruce Peninsula has been a special part of my life for almost 40 years and I now divide my time between the rocky shorelines of Georgian Bay, the lusciousness of Essex County and the white sand beaches of northern Florida.

In each place I am constantly touched by the mystery and magnificence of creation, which never fails to fill me with awe. I am strengthened by the water; I am grounded on the shore; I find comfort in the trees.

In each place I have been privileged to study with some of the very best – learning, experimenting and working in various media. They have taught me, inspired me and, by believing in me, have led me to trust my own way.
