My work is a reflection of who I am, shaped by my upbringing, interests and values and has evolved over the years.
My inspiration comes from a love of nature and a strong concern about man’s impact on our planet and my desire to reduce my own carbon footprint. To that end, I use foraged treasures… a piece of driftwood, a tiny beach pebble as well as repurposed frames and glass. But I also incorporate materials that have been created by man and discarded carelessly on the beach, along the roadways and in the forest … a piece of rusted metal, a plastic lid from a coffee cup. This is the path to extinction.
My goal it to draw viewers into my art and encourage them to see the beauty of our world in its most natural and raw form and make them think about their impact on the environment and their responsibility to make change.
