Artist Bio
Peter garayt is a life long amateur artist who retired to Owen Sound five years ago. He began creating full time and makes an eclectic group of mixed media pieces.
Peter has shown in some local Galleries and is now known in the community.
He also has painted several murals and built some garden installations and land art.
Artist Statement
I work intuitively with a variety of materials.
I am usually working on two or three pieces at the same time.
My favorite materials are generally wood or found objects sometimes incorporating them together with wire, paper mache, paint etc.
I have a firm belief that once an artist makes a mark or gouge or bend in or on a new work the process becomes collaborative. This involuntary process brings insight to that which is being fed back to you from start to finish.
